Vital funding for research and documentation at the Lyons Institute of East Asian Studies (IAO) comes mainly from French and European public institutions. This financial support takes the form of recurring State credits (subsidies from the CNRS and university supervisory authorities) and funds from contracts for projects supported by research bodies, including the French National Research Agency (Agence nationale de la recherche), the European Research Council and institutions the world over.
Funding is essential to research. The IAO and its need for resources are constantly evolving and expanding. The acquisition of documentary resources is vital to the sustainability and progress of the Institute. Donations from private sources, individuals, companies and foundations can help us to maintain perennially high standards of research, meet the expectations of our partners and contribute to general wellbeing.
Some of our research projects in progress are supported by public and private non-profit organisations: the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation (Taiwan), the Academy of Korean Studies (South Korea), the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (Japan) and the National Science Foundation (United States).
The IAO welcomes grants, gifts and other contributions which may be channelled through its supervisory institutions: (CNRS, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Lyon and Université Lyon 2). For information, please contact us by post (IAO - ENS de Lyon - BP7000 69342 Lyon cedex 07), email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or telephone (+33437376433).
The IAO is always grateful for gifts and donations in the form of libraries, private papers, iconographic collections and the like. Unless expressly requested by donors, these are catalogued and made public on the Institute’s website. For detailed information on the IAO charter and agreement template on gifts and donations, please get in touch with François Guillemot by email (email@example.com) or telephone (0033437376248).
