Salima Bekbolotova has MA in Economic policy in global markets from Central European University in Hungary and Economic sciences degree from Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University in Kyrgyzstan. She is associate professor at the American University of Central Asia and an invited lecturer in a number of other universities in Kyrgyzstan. Along with several compatriots they founded research center “Development” to promote research excellence in Kyrgyzstan and to impact the economic development regionally. She fulfills the duties of a deputy director at the Center.

Her research interests are : international trade, economic growth and sustainable development, agro-industrial sector, integration and globalization issues, economy of Central Asian countries, secondary and tertiary education.
